Bellydance, known as Raks Sharki in Arabic, is one of the world's oldest dance forms celebrating the female body. Get in touch with your feminine inner strength while learning basic muscle isolation techniques. Develop greater self confidence, increased body awareness and better posture. Through Belly dance you will discover a beautiful and graceful way to move with music while increasing your sense of rhythm.
About the instructor: Samantha Fairuz has studied Middle Eastern bellydance since 1995. She has studied with the top dancers in the profession form the U.S. and Egypt. Samantha teaches classes in the Milwaukee area and also gives lectures, demonstrations and performances for schools, private corporations and private functions. She is currently a featured performer at Casablanca Restaurant in Milwaukee and has also performed at Sahar, Shahrazad and Shiraz Restaurants. She has performed at Belly dance seminars across the U.S. as well as local venues including Arab World Fest, State Fair, Bristol Renaissance Fair, and the Holiday Folk Fair.
No belly exposure or special costumes are required -- just wear comfortable clothing. Women only, please! Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for this workshop. Cost is $20 per woman.
